A full emergency was declared at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Saturday morning (March 28, 2026) after an engine failure was reported on an IndiGo flight arriving from Visakhapatnam.
The emergency was declared at 10:39 a.m. for IndiGo flight 6E 579, operated by a Boeing 737-800 aircraft on Vishakapatnam to Delhi flight.
There were 160 passengers on board the Boeing 737 aircraft, the source said.
The flight landed at 10.59 a.m. as per flight tracking website flightradar24.com.
IndiGo has leased the aircraft from Turkey’s Corendon Airlines.
