Doha, Qatar: An elderly Indian passenger who suffered a stroke mid-flight while transiting through Doha has been safely repatriated to India following emergency medical care at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC).
In a social media post, the Embassy of India in Qatar shared the update along with a video of the passenger’s son-in-law, who spoke in Malayalam, expressing gratitude to embassy and ICBF officials. “Me and my father-in-law were travelling from the UK to India when this incident occurred and was admitted to Hamad Medical Corporation. The Embassy and ICBF officials supported us and assisted with all the paperwork for transit passengers. They stood by us until we received the fit-to-fly certificate,” he said.

The passenger received prompt medical attention upon arrival and was stabilized before being cleared for travel. The successful repatriation was made possible through the coordinated efforts of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) Qatar, Hamad Medical Corporation, and Qatar Airways, stated the Embassy.
