Sadie Robertson is remembering her grandpa Phil Robertson.
The 27-year-old took to social media to share a moving tribute to the “Duck Dynasty” star, including the last words he spoke to her, following his death at age 79 after a battle with multiple illnesses and Alzheimer’s disease.
“’Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.’ – 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV,” Sadie wrote on Instagram alongside a slew of family photos over the years. “As I was sitting with Papaw Phil today, I thought about this verse… he has already experienced this on earth—going from dead to alive by the power of Christ!”
Looking back at how Phil creating the Duck Commander hunting company spearheaded the family onto A&E, the reality star added, “It was his testimony that changed his life, our families life, and thousands of others. Now he is experiencing it in the fullness. Fully alive in Christ. The new has come.”
Sadie concluded, “One of the last things he said to me was “full strength ahead!” Amen!”
Phil’s daughter-in-law, Korie Robertson, announced the news of his passing on Instagram Sunday night.
