Doha, Qatar: Doha Municipality, represented by the Parks and Gardens Section of the Services Affairs Department, participated in an event entitled “Plant for a Green and Sustainable Environment” as part of the activities of Qatar Sustainability Week, which was organised by the Engineering Services Department at Qatar University, represented by the Health, Safety and Environment Section.

This was attended by Salem Hamoud Al Shafi, Director of the Services Affairs Department at Doha Municipality, and Salem Abdullah Al Ahwal, Head of the Parks and Gardens Section at the Services Affairs Department at Doha Municipality.

The event aims to enhance environmental awareness and encourage community participation in preserving a green and sustainable environment, by planting 15 trees suitable for the Qatari environment on the university campus in the College of Medicine area in front of the metro station, with the participation of Al Wakrah Municipality, Al Darwish Inter Surf Facilities Management Company, TDGI Facilities Management Company, and the Friends of the Environment Centre, in an initiative that reflects the spirit of cooperation and shared environmental responsibility.

This event comes within the framework of the efforts of Doha Municipality and Qatar University to support Qatar National Vision 2030.
