Doha, Qatar: An Air India Express flight bound to Doha from Calicut International Airport was forced to U-turn on Wednesday morning, January 23, due to a technical fault. 

Reports indicate that the Flight IX 375 took off from Calicut at around 9:07am when it made a return landing at 11:12am. There were 188 passengers on board, including the crew and pilots. 

Several reports quoted airport officials confirming that there was a fault in the cabin air conditioning system of the flight, and it was not an emergency landing. Officials further confirmed that the plane landed safely back at the airport after two hours airborne, and passengers safely deboarded the aircraft.

Officials also stated that an alternative flight was arranged for the passengers, and no injuries or emergencies were reported.
