Diamondbacks announcer Bob Brenly mocks Marcus Stroman’s du-rag
NY Post
PHOENIX — An attempted wisecrack from the Diamondbacks television booth left Marcus Stroman irked by its racial undertones Tuesday.
Diamondbacks analyst Bob Brenly, commenting on Stroman’s head covering under his cap, spouted: “I’m sure that is the same du-rag that Tom Seaver used to wear when he pitched for the Mets.” Stroman wasn’t amused. After the Mets’ 6-5 loss to the Diamondbacks in 10 innings, he retweeted a fan who commented: “I am not surprised by this type of language towards African-American athletes. It’s the blatant racism and it’s been going on for a long time.”More Related News
