Diamondbacks ace Zac Gallen torpedoes Yankees’ chances with brilliant outing
NY Post
The pitch is a knuckle-curve, and the pitcher who knuckled the Yankees under on this raw, cold night was a Jersey Guy named Zac Gallen.
All Zac Gallen did was deliver this sobering message to the Yankees: Damn the torpedoes. Damn your torpedoes. He drove them batty.
Damn Yankees struck out 13 times during Zac Gallen’s 6 ²/₃ innings of three-hit shutout ball. It tied his career high.
He turned them into the Hole in the Bat Gang.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
