Deshaun Watson returning to practice in latest Browns QB twist
NY Post
Shedeur Sanders has another potential challenger with the Browns.
Shortly after Cleveland’s rookie quarterback earned his third start of the season, the Browns announced Wednesday morning that they designated QB Deshaun Watson for a return to practice.
The veteran signal-caller, 30, has yet to play this season after sustaining an Achilles injury in Week 7 of the 2024 season and then re-injuring it during the rehab process.
“His focus, my focus, is obviously getting him back to playing football, practicing football, which he hasn’t done in over a year,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said. “So, it’s a good next step for him.”
It is unclear if the 3-9 Browns would put Watson back on the field in a season that has long been lost, especially given his injury history.
Watson started all seven games for the Browns leading up to his injury, hurling for 1,148 yards and five touchdowns along with 148 rushing yards and a score.
