David Letterman Has A 'Delightful' Response To Trump Targeting His Late Night Friend

Letterman said he's "never been more proud" of the comedian following the president's social media attacks.
David Letterman on Tuesday reacted to Donald Trump’s repeated social media attacks against “Late Night” host Seth Meyers, including the president’s calls for NBC to “IMMEDIATELY” fire the comedian this month.
“I thought, ‘This is just delightful, let me — how do you think that’s going to go?’” said Letterman of Trump’s request in a clip shared to his YouTube page.
“So anyway, I’ve never been more proud of Seth Meyers. ... He does a magical job. But just remember, Seth, things happen!”
Earlier this month, Trump took aim at Meyers for mocking his complaints about “catapults” on U.S. Navy aircraft carriers, writing on his Truth Social platform that the comedian was a “truly deranged lunatic” and “100% ANTI TRUMP, WHICH IS PROBABLY ILLEGAL!!!”
Days later, Meyers directly responded to Trump’s attack with a supercut that tore apart the president’s claim that he “endlessly” discussed catapults.
