IPL 2026 matches in Hyderabad's Uppal stadium start April 5, featuring seven games with Sunrisers Hyderabad competing throughout.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Uppal of Hyderabad will host its first match of the 19th Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday (April 5, 2026). A total of seven matches are scheduled to be held at the city stadium, with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) being one of the two teams in all of the contests.
The seven matches will be held on April 5, 13, 18, 21 and on May 3, 6 and 22. The matches on Sundays (April 5 and May 3) will be held from 3.30 p.m., and the rest from 7.30 p.m. In Hyderabad, SRH will compete with all but two teams — Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. So far in the IPL, SRH played two matches and won one.
Over 2,000 police personnel will be deployed for the matches at the stadium which has seating capacity of around 39,000. Police personnel said that around 430 CCTV cameras would be installed including at entry points, parking, approach roads and other points. She Teams will be deployed to prevent and act against harassment. Live feeds will be monitored. Gates will be open three hours before the beginning of a match. Police have said that they have put in place evacuation plans and emergency response teams.
