Darb Lusail will host several shows that will entertain visitors and residents both in the day and at night during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, an official has said. “There will be drone shows on the commercial avenue of Darb Lusail that will highlight the Qatari, Arab and international culture during the World Cup. Also, there will be car rallies there, while shops and kiosks will serve the needs of visitors during the tournament,” said Khaled al-Suwaidi, Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) Stakeholders Relations director, while talking to Al Kass TV on Friday. He noted that Darb Lusail is located in a strategic area with proximity to Lusail Stadium and other key destinations. The entertainment activities that will be offered there include 3D shows, live video shows and daily walks, cultural events, children's activities, cinema shows, drone shows and daily water shows. “The Darb Lusail project has been designed to remain beyond the World Cup to serve the city of Lusail,” noting that cooling will be provided so that the public can visit and use the 1.5km-long street any time of the year. Darb Lusail will include the 'boulevard' and the 'show square'. Al-Suwaidi said Darb Lusail will have restaurants and shops and will be decorated in celebration of the World Cup, adding that it will host a number of cultural and artistic performances throughout the day during the tournament. Further, the official explained that the 'show square' will contain a large theatre and other attractions, adding that the opening hours will be from 10am to 3am. He stressed that the fans can easily spend quality time at Darb Lusail before and after a match. He added that transportation between Darb Lusail and Lusail Stadium will be provided by Tram and Metro. For those wanting to use cars, he said parking will be limited. Khalid Ali al-Mawlawi, head of Tournament Experience at the SC, said entering Darb Lusail will not require the Hayya card and the place will be open to all.
