Critics Point Out Glaring Contradiction In Trump’s Iran ‘Regime Change’ Post

Conservative attorney George Conway led the criticism online.
President Donald Trump sparked incredulity on social media Sunday — including from Republicans ― after appearing to call for regime change in Iran.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, the president wrote:
“It’s not politically correct to use the term, ‘Regime Change,’ but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn’t there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!”
The post stunned critics, especially given that top Trump administration officials — including Vice President JD Vance and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth — had earlier dismissed the idea of ousting Iran’s leaders.
Instead, they had framed recent U.S. attacks on Iranian nuclear sites as efforts solely to prevent the development of nuclear weapons.
