Corniche closure: Here is how to apply for exceptional passage permit

The General Directorate of Traffic has explained how to apply for an exceptional passage permit during the Corniche closure from November 26 to December 4. Entities affected by the closure may request for such exceptional permits during the closure, it was announced recently. The Public Works Authority (Ashghal), along with the Local Organising Committee of the FIFA Arab World Cup, has established an electronic service to provide permits to the affected parties. The exceptional permit application must be submitted through the responsible person designated by the institution, company, ministry or other entity concerned.
Following are the conditions: - The part of the road to be accessed must be directly affected, that is, there are no alternative entrances and exits to those on the Corniche. - The request will be automatically rejected if there are alternative routes to Corniche Road. The application procedures are as follows: - A letter addressed to the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior - A copy of the establishment's registration - A copy of the vehicle ownership - Pictures of both sides of the driving licence - The vehicle number, its type, and the driver’s personal number Further details and the Service Request Form are available here.
