Christian McCaffrey suffers potential season-ending injury in brutal 49ers blow
NY Post
Christian McCaffrey left Sunday’s game with a knee injury after he suffered what appeared to be a non-contact injury and it may be the reason his 2024 season ends.
The 49ers running back injured himself during a handoff on first-and-10 when he started to run but went down without being touched in the San Francisco backfield.
McCaffrey went down and after the play was whistled dead he went right off to the medical tent, appearing to limp as he made his way to the sideline. He eventually made his way back to the locker room.
Following the 49ers’ 35-10 blowout loss to the Bills, head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that McCaffrey suffered a PCL injury that has the potential to end his season, per Ian Rapoport.
At the time, the 49ers officially ruled McCaffrey questionable to return due to a knee injury.
A video recorded by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco showed some Bills fans throwing snowballs at McCaffrey as he left the field.

Suddenly, someone had hit a rewind button and everyone had been transported back seven months. It was early spring instead of late fall, it was broiling hot outside the arena walls and not freezing cold. Everyone was back at TD Garden. There were 19,156 frenzied fans on their feet begging for blood, poised for the kill.
