Chris Russo takes Michael Rapaport dig at Kevin Durant during epic rant
NY Post
Kevin Durant sat out Wednesday’s loss to the 76ers, a defeat that could end up costing the Nets home-court advantage, and Chris “Mad Dog” Russo had a big problem with that decision.
The former WFAN talk-show host, who now works for SiriusXM, tore apart the Nets and their star forward for skipping the showdown, although Durant just returned from a hamstring injury that cost him nearly two months. “Let’s go tell [former Knicks coach] Pat Riley, ‘Hey Pat, no [Patrick] Ewing tonight. I know you’re playing the Bulls and [Michael] Jordan, but Ewing’s going to pass because his knees are sore,’” Russo said hyperbolically. “There was many a night in many a locker room when Ewing had to freaking ice his knees, talk to the media. … Every game, sat there with his ice on his knees, and he played night after night after night after night after night! Played his ass off! Night after night! … And I’ll tell you something right now, Ewing wanted to play!”
Almost a year to the day after a goaltender interference call against Kyle Palmieri lost the Islanders a game against the Blue Jackets that started their season’s death spiral, they were on the wrong end of another controversial call against those same Blue Jackets that might have had the same effect.

SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.
