Chittoor district police launch 'Mahila Sadhikaratha Varotsavalu' to empower women, with yoga classes for personnel. Celebrating Women's Day.
Following the directions of Director General of Police Harish Kumar Gupta, the Chittoor district police initiated the ‘Mahila Sadhikaratha Varotsavalu’ (Women’s Empowerment Week) across the district. The weekly celebrations will conclude on March 8, coinciding with International Women’s Day, giving key importance to the subjects of women’s security, empowerment, and safety.
Superintendent of Police V.N. Manikanta Chandolu said on Sunday (March 2) that yoga training classes were organised for the police personnel at all the police stations in the district. Yoga teachers and expert trainers in the department were deployed for the purpose. The SP said that the objective of the programme was to help the police personnel, particularly women, to overcome physical and mental stress in profession.
The SP said that different events would be organised to celebrate Women’s Day. He said that such initiatives would play a major role in making women stronger, professional and confident in their careers. “This occasion would promote women empowerment in the Police Department and society as well,” he said.
