Chief Public Health Office to hold COVID-19 briefing Friday

P.E.I. Chief Public Health Officer Dr. Heather Morrison will update Islanders on the COVID-19 situation at a briefing that will begin at 2 p.m. Friday.

The last several days have seen daily announcements of new cases of COVID-19 on P.E.I., including three new cases on Thursday.
P.E.I. has 29 active COVID-19 cases and has seen a total of 406 confirmed cases. There have been two hospitalizations and no deaths.
The latest action on prevention was announced by Morrison last Friday: the province is recommending COVID-19 booster shots for Islanders 18 and over, as long as six months has passed since their second dose.
Children across P.E.I. between the ages of five and 11 are now eligible to be vaccinated.
