Chief of Staff meets French counterpart

HE the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Staff Lieutenant General (Pilot) Salem bin Hamad bin Mohammed bin Aqeel Al Nabit met with the French Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Thierry Burkhard and his accompanying delegation, who are currently visiting Qatar. During the meeting they discussed topics of common interest and reviewed relations of military cooperation between the two countries and means to develop them. The meeting included the signing of minutes of the meeting of the twenty-third session of the Qatari-French Joint Higher Committee which were signed by the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, and from the French side, by Lieutenant-General Thierry Burkhard. The meeting included agreement on many joint activities and exercises, as well as exchange of expertise that will contribute to strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries.

The meeting of the Qatari-French Joint Higher Committee is held annually alternately between the two countries. At the end of the meeting, the French Chief of Staff awarded President of the International Military Cooperation Authority Brigadier-General Abdulaziz Saleh Al Sulaiti and Commander of Al Zaeem Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Attiya Air Academy Brigadier-General (Pilot) Salem Abdullah Al Dosari the National Defense Gold Medal in recognition of their efforts, and in view of the constructive and positive relations between the State of Qatar and the French Republic. The meeting was attended by a number of senior officers from the Qatari and French sides.
