
Chairman of SC's Operations Office: All 2022 World Cup facilities are ready 365 days ahead of tournament

Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC) Operations Office and Vice Chairman of Technical Delivery Office Engineer Yasir Al Jamal underscored the readiness of all sports facilities that will host the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar. In a press conference on Saturday at the SC headquarters, Al Jamal stressed that the State of Qatar is living in a distinguished World Cup atmosphere, coinciding with the countdown to the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qatar with only 365 days away from the launch of this historic version of the tournament hosted by the State of Qatar for the first time in the region. Al Jamal added that the journey started 11 years ago after Qatar's bid won the hosting rights in December 2010, adding that Qatar has achieved many accomplishments and was able to fulfill its commitments, therefore, various international bodies, especially FIFA praised Qatar's World Cup preparations. Khalifa, Al Janoub, Education City, Ahmed Bin Ali, Al Thumama, Ras Abu Aboud, and Al Bayt stadiums are ready to host the FIFA World Cup matches, he stated. Al Jamal pointed out that Lusail Stadium is the only World Cup venue yet to be inaugurated, adding that the construction work has been completed and the inauguration ceremony will be special as the stadium will host the 2022 World Cup final, with the attendance of 80,000 spectators. Al Jamal stressed that SC will direct its efforts during the coming period on operational operations, in addition to enhancing the fans' experience during the tournament and making it an exceptional experience. Several initiatives will be launched to stimulate the fans' experience, from the beginning of 2022 until November 2022, the date of the World Cup, he added.
Chairman of SC's Operations Office and Vice Chairman of Technical Delivery Office Engineer Yasir Al Jamal pointed out that Al Bayt Stadium, a World Cup venue, will be inaugurated during the FIFA Arab Cup. Al Jamal confirmed that 10 hotels have been allocated for the hosting of the Arab teams, pointing out that the teams' delegations will begin to arrive in Doha on Nov. 24. He explained that a separate hall has been allocated at Hamad International Airport to receive the Arab teams, which is the same hall that will witness the arrival of the teams participating in the 200 FIFA World Cup Qatar. Engineer Yasir Al Jamal said that the Doha Corniche will witness on Sunday at 8:30 pm a special event to celebrate the inauguration of the countdown clock for the 2022 World Cup, in the presence of a number of senior officials in the country, along with international football stars and guests of the State of Qatar. Regarding housing solutions for the World Cup fans, Al Jamal said that a partnership agreement was signed with the "Accor" international hotel services company, which will include providing hospitality services to 60,000 housing units during the tournament period. He added that SC signed an agreement with the Italian company "MSC" to provide the State of Qatar during the World Cup with two floating ships, one of which is under construction, and it is the largest ship that has been built by the company. The two ships will be in Qatar at Hamad Port on Nov. 11, 2022, 10 days before the tournament.
