Centre decides to keep PPF, small savings interest rates unchanged

The central government has decided to keep the interest rate on small savings schemes unchanged in the second quarter of the current financial year.
Interest rates on small savings would remain unchanged for the second quarter of the ongoing financial year, the central government said on Wednesday. The announcement comes three months after the Centre withdrew big cuts in small savings interest rates, fearing an adverse impact in the assembly polls. With the government holding fast to the interest rates on savings schemes, considered favourites of the 'Aam Aadmi', the small savings instruments will continue getting higher returns compared to bank deposit rates.More Related News
