Cardinals fire Jonathan Gannon after three losing seasons
NY Post
The Cardinals are moving on from Jonathan Gannon.
The franchise fired its third-year head coach Monday after another losing season, the worst of his tenure at 3-14.
Gannon finishes his time with the franchise at 15-36.
The Cardinals have not reached the playoffs since the 2021 season.
General Manager Monti Ossenfort is now tasked with securing Gannon’s successor.
Gannon, 42, arrived in Arizona in 2023 following a two-season run as the Eagles’ defensive coordinator.

The deal that brought Aidan Thompson to the Rangers didn’t create the ripple effects that the Artemi Panarin trade did because of who departed the organization. That was only Derrick Pouliot, a 32-year-old defenseman more than two years removed from his last NHL game. It didn’t create the waves like one for, say, Vincent Trocheck, would have because of current NHL players or draft capital the Blueshirts received in return, either.
