Ottawa: The Canadian authorities announced that they have decided to increase the number of refugees that will be received in the country this year, to about 45,000 people.
Canadian Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Marco Mendicino said in statements that his country will accept more refugees and their families this year as part of its efforts to solve a global crisis, adding that Canada will receive nearly twice the number of people covered by protection, who have applied for asylum and obtained refugee status, after arriving in the country, as well as their first-degree relatives abroad. He revealed that the new target number is 45,000, compared to 23,500 refugees last year, expressing the hope of his country's authorities to facilitate the travel of refugee family members, taking into account clearly the travel restrictions in force in the world.More Related News
