Campaign to rehabilitate stray dogs continues

The campaign targets different parts of Al Sheehaniya Municipality in this phase.

The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) Livestock Department’s campaign to provide stray dogs with shelter has been going on for the second consecutive month under the motto Rifq (Pity). During this period, the campaign targets different parts of Al Sheehaniya Municipality with the aim of spotting stray dogs and keeping them in an MME animal shelter established specially for this purpose. This has been done in compliance with all the laws and conditions pertaining to animal welfare and to provide them with the necessary care regarding veterinary services, food, water and the required vaccinations for dogs, besides rehabilitating them according to the animal welfare law, the MME said in a statement. The department recently intensified its efforts to contain the number of stray dogs in different areas around the country by finding such animals through regular campaigns. Besides, related reports could be communicated to the unified call centre at 184. All these cases are addressed based on a specific schedule and by taking into consideration urgent cases.
