One of three teams to qualify for Qatar 2022 from West Africa, Cameroon fans will bring colour and excitement to international football’s showpiece tournament. Cameroonian Boris Adi, who has lived in Abu Hamour for five years, is excited to welcome fans of the Indomitable Lions, as they compete in the finals for the eighth time. Originally from Bamenda in the northwest region of Cameroon, the 29-year-old works as an accountant at West Bay Ice Factory. He spoke about what Cameroon fans can expect when they arrive in Qatar for the FIFA World Cup™, which will take place from 20 November to 18 December.
How would you describe Qatar to people from Cameroon?
One noticeable thing is the safety and security. You could have a large sum of money or a valuable watch on you and no one will try to steal them. People here are focused on their jobs. It is very diverse. There are a lot of expats and that’s why the country is so busy.
