Cabinet holds regular weekly meeting

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday.
Following the meeting, HE Minister of Municipality and Environment and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Subaei issued the following statement:
At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the success of the Shura Council elections, which was characterized by integrity, transparency and good organization, and the high patriotic spirit that prevailed, which reflected the Qatari people's awareness and understanding of their national responsibilities and duties.
The Cabinet affirmed that Qatar's first Shura Council elections is a historic achievement for the rational policy of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and his wise vision, as well as his keenness to enhance popular participation in the process of legislation and oversight, which embodies His Highness' confidence in the loyal Qatari people and their ability to exercise their constitutional rights with the highest levels of awareness and national responsibility.
