For the first time since the third week of April, players will be on the practice rink on wearing Rangers uniforms on Wednesday. The rookies are coming.
A week from Thursday, the veterans will join the mix for Mike Sullivan’s return to New York after a 12-year gap, this time as head coach after getting a four-year run as an assistant from 2009-10 through 2012-13 under John Tortorella.
So, the season will be upon us soon enough after a pair of rookie games in Allentown, Pa., against the Flyers and then six preseason contests. The organization will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Maybe I’ll call 2025-26 the franchise’s Season of Redemption. We’ll see. Maybe not.
