Buffet, shisha relaxations from Saturday

MoCI has announced the resumption of open buffet services for licensed restaurants. Shisha services may also be offered in the open spaces of restaurants and cafes within and outside touristic areas, according to the MoCI.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) has announced the resumption of open buffet services for licensed restaurants.Shisha services may also be offered in the open spaces of restaurants and cafes within and outside touristic areas, according to the MoCI.The ministry on Thursday issued a notice announcing the lifting of some restrictions imposed on commercial activities.The decision is applicable from Saturday, March 12."In line with the current developments and to complement previous decisions taken by the State of Qatar to preserve the health and safety of citizens and residents to limit the spread of Covid-19, it has been decided to lift some restrictions on commercial activities," the ministry said in the notice.These are as follows:1. Lifting restrictions on the number of people permitted in indoor and outdoor public places. In indoor public places, all citizens, residents and visitors who have completed their Covid-19 vaccination, those who have recovered from the disease, and people whose health condition prevents them from taking the vaccine, based on a medical report from the authorities determined by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), are allowed entry.Citizens, residents and visitors (12 years and above) who have not completed their Covid-19 vaccination, or not received any dose of the vaccine, are allowed to enter indoor public places aa rate not exceeding 20% of the capacity. They will be allowed entry after conducting a rapid antigen test approved by the MoPH, for the following indoor public places: gyms; weddings; sports events; conferences, exhibitions and events; restaurants and cafes; amusement parks and entertainment centres; swimming pools and water parks; and theatres and cinemas.Children under 12 are not required to do a rapid antigen test.2.
