Doha, Qatar: The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing rehabilitation programmes and promoting sustainability through its ongoing partnership with Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs (QSRSN), underscoring its developmental role in supporting persons with disabilities.
The announcement was made during a press conference held last week at the Directorate’s headquarters, where officials reviewed the extended cooperation framework between the two entities and highlighted the tangible impact of endowment-funded initiatives on beneficiaries’ lives.
Eng Hassan bin Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Director-General of the General Directorate of Endowments, described the partnership as a well-established model of integrated efforts aimed at serving a valued segment of society.
He emphasised that the relationship between the Directorate and organisations supporting persons with disabilities is deeply rooted and has been translated into projects and programs that fulfil donors’ conditions and ensure that endowment revenues reach eligible beneficiaries.
Al Marzouqi explained that the Healthcare Endowment Fund reflects the historic role of health-focused endowments in community development. He described it as a sustainable mechanism to support healthcare services and empower the most vulnerable groups, particularly persons with disabilities, highlighting the endowment’s role as a key partner in social development.
