Awqaf ministry issues advisory for Eid prayers

With more than 1,000 mosques and prayer grounds set to host Eid prayers, the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs has announced a set of precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. The advisory tweeted by the ministry asked the faithful to wear masks as long as they are inside a mosque or on prayer ground. Mats should be brought by them while the prayers are to be held while keeping a distance of 1.5m among those present. “No children below 12 years will be allowed while places for women will be closed," the advisory said. Green status on the Ehteraz app has to be shown by worshippers, who should also not shake hands with each other. "Don't rush at the doors of a mosque," the advisory said, urging people to co-operate with the competent authorities.
