The government has informed that Rs 2,000 currency notes have not been printed in India in the last two years. In a written reply, Minister of State for Finance Anurag Thakur informed Lok Sabha that 3,362 million currency notes of Rs 2,000 were in circulation as of March 30, 2018, constituting 3.27 per cent and 37.26 per cent of the currency in terms of volume and trade, respectively. However, the number of Rs 2,000 currency notes in circulation has come down, as per the minister’s written reply.More Related News
