AOC Slams GOP For Selling Out SNAP In Exchange For Trump Swag

The congresswoman had a scathing message for House Republicans who made a last-minute flip on President Trump's so-called "Big Beautiful Bill."
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) called out House Republicans who reportedly reversed their stance on President Donald Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” after meetings that they left with signed MAGA swag.
Responding to reports that several GOP holdouts flipped after the cozy chats with Trump, the congresswoman posted to X, formerly Twitter, saying, “House Republicans: Voting for cuts to *every single American* on SNAP in exchange for some signed merch.”
“Voting to starve babies. The disabled. The poor,” Ocasio-Cortez added about parts of the bill that would significantly shift financial responsibility for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program from the federal government to individual states.
Blasting the religious rhetoric some lawmakers used to defend the bill, she added, “And they have the audacity to try to brand this as Christian. What does that word even mean to them? Wearing a necklace?”
As the House races to pass the act before the president’s arbitrary July Fourth deadline, Trump reportedly spent Wednesday wooing skeptical Republicans with closed-door sit-downs and autographed merch.
