The end is near for “And Just Like That...,” HBO Max’s polarizing “Sex and the City” revival series.
On Friday, showrunner Michael Patrick King confirmed that the series will conclude after its 12-episode third season, which is currently airing.
“And just like that… the ongoing storytelling of the ‘Sex and the City’ universe is coming to an end,” King said in a statement shared on the show’s social media platforms. “While I was writing the last episode of ‘And Just Like That…’ season 3, it became clear to me that this might be a wonderful place to stop.”
After noting that he and Sarah Jessica Parker had worked with the show’s creative team to extend Season 3 from 10 episodes to 12, he added, “SJP and I held off announcing the news until now because we didn’t want the word ‘final’ to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It’s with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years.”
The series finale will air on HBO Max Aug. 14.
