Amir holds telephone conversation with German Chancellor

Amir inaugurates Qatar Economic Forum in cooperation with Bloomberg

HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani held today via telephone a conversation with HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel. At the beginning of the call, HE the German Chancellor expressed her thanks to HH the Amir and her appreciation of the State of Qatar's role in Afghanistan. The call dealt with reviewing regional and international developments, particularly developments in Afghanistan. The two sides stressed in that regard the importance of continuing dialogue to ensure the success of a comprehensive political settlement that achieves the aspirations of the Afghan people. The call also dealt with discussing the strong bilateral ties between the two countries and the means to enhance them.
