Fox News
Carlos Castro made his way from war-torn El Salvador to the nation's capital, where he discovered his American dream: He created an Hispanic market and other businesses.
"I had dreams of coming to the U.S. because I fell in love with the language and the people." Castro and his wife employ 180 people, 90% of whom are Hispanic. Most of the managers in their stores are women. Alicia Acuna joined FOX News Channel (FNC) in 1997 and currently serves as Senior Correspondent based in the network's Denver bureau.
"I learn[ed] a lot about reinforced steel and masonry and plumbing," Castro said, noting that his father made sure he learned "all the stages of construction — all the way to understanding blueprint reading."
