Hamad Medical Corporation has announced the closure of Al Wakra Emergency Department from midnight, Friday April 2. “As part of the healthcare sector’s measures to boost hospital capacity and meet increasing demand due to the rising number of Covid-19 cases, Al Wakra Hospital has been designated as a facility to care for Covid-19 patients,” HMC tweeted. “As a result, Al Wakra Hospital’s Emergency Department will be closed, effective from midnight, Friday 2 April. People in Al Wakra and other parts of Qatar requiring urgent and emergency medical services should select one of the following alternatives: • For urgent but non-life-threatening conditions call HMC’s Urgent Consultation Service on 16000 from 7am to 3pm, seven days a week.
