In a joint statement, Adani and Embraer said they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation across aircraft manufacturing, supply chains, aftermarket services and pilot training.
Adani Group and Brazil-based aircraft maker, Embraer on Tuesday announced a partnership to explore manufacturing aircraft in India, marking Adani’s entry into commercial aviation manufacturing, reported Reuters.
The partnership aims to set up a regional transport aircraft venture covering manufacturing, assembly and higher localisation of parts and components, the companies said.
The move allows Adani Group, which already operates airports and has a growing defence and aerospace business, to expand its footprint into aircraft production. It also aligns with India’s broader push to increase domestic aircraft manufacturing, beyond assembly to components and supply chains.
In a joint statement, Adani and Embraer said they had signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to explore cooperation across aircraft manufacturing, supply chains, aftermarket services and pilot training. Financial details were not disclosed.
“India is a pivotal market for Embraer, and this partnership combines our aerospace expertise with Adani’s strong industrial capabilities,” said Arjan Meijer, President and Chief Executive of Embraer Commercial Aviation.
Embraer is the world’s third-largest aircraft manufacturer after Airbus and Boeing. The company specialises in regional jets that carry between 70 and 140 passengers.
