There are 94 people in Waterloo region's three hospitals with COVID-19 as of Monday, public health has reported.
There are also 13 people in the intensive care unit, but the region notes people in the ICU may no longer be infectious with the virus.
Public health is also reporting two new deaths: one a woman in her 80s, the other a woman in her 90s. That brings the total number of COVID-related deaths in the region to 319.
The region also reports 1,639 new COVID-19 cases from Friday to Monday, which is considered a low estimate because not everyone is eligible for testing to confirm whether or not they have the virus.
There are 58 active outbreaks in the region, 31 of which are in long-term care and retirement homes.
(Note: there are three pages with data about long-term care and retirement home outbreaks in the below graphic.)
There are 21 outbreaks in congregate settings and six outbreaks in the region's hospitals.
The region no longer reports outbreaks in workplaces, facilities, schools, post-secondary institutions or child-care settings.
The region's vaccination dashboard showed 76.69 per cent of all residents have received two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
The dashboard does not report overall percentages for people who have their third dose, but does break down the ages of people who have been vaccinated. For example, the dashboard shows that 79 per cent of people aged 80 and older have received a third dose.
The region announced on Twitter that it had a number of appointments for third doses available this week, and encouraged people to reschedule appointments to get their third dose as soon as possible. Appointments can be booked or cancelled through the region's website.
P.E.I.'s Public Schools Branch is looking for 50 substitute bus drivers, and it'll be recruiting at three job fairs on Saturday, June 8. The job fairs are located at the Atlantic Superstore in Montague, Royalty Crossing in Charlottetown, and the bus parking lot of Three Oaks Senior High in Summerside. All three run from 9 a.m. until noon. Dave Gillis, the director of transportation and risk management for the Public Schools Branch, said the number of substitute drivers they're hiring isn't unusual. "We are always looking for more. Our drivers tend to have an older demographic," he said.
