Port Moresby: A 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck Monday Papua New Guinea.
The US Geological Survey reported that the earthquake's epicenter was located 80 km east of Kimbe, at a depth of 47.9 km.
So far, no casualties or damage have been reported from the earthquake.
Papua New Guinea is located in the so-called Ring of Fire, a region that extends along the coast of the Pacific Ocean and is characterized by high earthquake and volcanic activity.
In February 2018, a devastating earthquake hit the region, killing at least 100 people and causing landslides that buried dozens of villages.
