Former Australia captain Michael Clarke has said that more than three players were bound to be involved in the Cape Town ball-tampering episode which rocked cricket in the country in 2018. Hinting that the bowlers were aware, Clarke said that players know their tools at the highest level.

Notably, the infamous 2018 ball-tampering scandal in Cape Town is back in news after a statement from Bancroft, one of the 3 players found to be guilty in the investigation, said that the involvement of bowlers was "self-explanatory". "Yeah, look, all I wanted to do was to be responsible and accountable for my own actions and part.Yeah, obviously what I did benefits bowlers and the awareness around that, probably, is self-explanatory," Bancroft had told The Guardian.
