Yankees overcome growing COVID-19 outbreak to hold off Royals
NY Post
KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After the Yankees put another player on the injured list, they went out and won another game.
Despite making three errors — after committing a season-high four in Tuesday’s loss — the Yankees beat the Royals, 5-2, on a day in which the heat index soared well over 100 degrees at Kauffman Stadium. “A lot of good things happened today,’’ Aaron Boone said. “Overall, though, we didn’t play very well. We were fortunate to come out of here with a win. We need to play a little better than that.”
SAN DIEGO — As you may have seen elsewhere in this newspaper (and also if you haven’t deleted me yet from your social media), I have a book coming out Tuesday called “The Bosses of The Bronx.” Much of it details the 37 years’ worth of antics, winning, losing, winning again and overall mania of George Steinbrenner’s time with the Yankees.

Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.
