Yankees’ Chris Gittens lands on IL after fluke bat injury
NY Post
BOSTON — Chris Gittens became the latest Yankee to go down with an injury, landing on the IL on Sunday with a sprained right ankle.
The first baseman suffered the injury when he tripped over his bat in Saturday’s win over the Red Sox at Fenway Park. The move opened up a roster spot for the return of Gio Urshela, who was in the lineup Sunday at third base, as he comes back from the COVID-19 IL.More Related News
