Winners of Katara Prize for Arabic Poetry announced

Doha: The Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) has announced the winners of the first three places in the Katara Prize for Arabic Poetry, which was held under a theme is ‘Mothers of the Believers’.
Alaa Ahmed El Sayed Abdel Rahim from Egypt won the first prize for his poem ‘Kamal Yaltaqi Al Bahran' (As Two Seas Meet). The second prize went to Ibrahim Issa Al Aslami from Yemen, for his poem ‘Al Nakhat Al Ula’ (The First Palm). Muhammad Khouiti from Morocco received third prize for his poem ‘Kahf Al Nubuwa’ (The Cave of Prophecy). General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti praised the cultural and heritage initiatives launched by Qatari Women’s Pen Forum. He said that the Katara Prize for Arabic Poetry, dedicated to the Mothers of the Believers, will be annual, and the first version of the award comes within the activities of ‘Doha, Capital of Culture in the Islamic World 2021’, which includes 21 activities organised by Katara.More Related News
