Will hasten 3rd wave: HC warns Centre, Delhi govt on huge crowding at city markets

The Delhi High Court warned Centre and state govt that such breach of Covid protocol at markets will only hasten the third Covid wave.

The Delhi High Court on Friday took suo motu cognizance of the various images of marketplaces being circulated on WhatsApp where people were not wearing masks and ignoring Covid-19 protocols. The court has issued notices to the Centre and Delhi government asking them to file a status report. Delhi High Court has said there is a need for stricter measures in the national capital to prevent further spread of Covid-19 cases. The vacation bench of Justices Navin Chawla and Asha Menon further warned that such breach of Covid protocol will only hasten the third wave, which cannot be permitted under any circumstance.
