Often, members of the AAPI community will see a national poll that doesn't have a category for Asian Americans and wonder, "Why weren't we included in this?"
Minorities in the U.S. have been historically underrepresented in polling and medical research, with Asian Americans sometimes falling out of the picture completely. Some large polls -- like the 2016 exit polls by Edison Research for the National Election Pool -- discuss issues among white, Black and Latino Americans, but do not include Asians. In a more recent NPR/PBS/Marist Poll on race relations in the United States, Asians were not listed under adults categorized by race.More Related News
