Who is Jade Carey? Meet the gymnast stepping in for Simone Biles in the Olympics all-around final

Jade Carey finished ninth in the qualifiers for the women's all-around gymnastics competition at the Olympics, behind two of her teammates. But on Thursday, she will compete for a medal — as a replacement for Simone Biles.
A day after removing herself from the team final on Tuesday, Biles withdrew from Thursday's individual all-around competition to focus on her mental well-being, USA Gymnastics said. The defending champion had said earlier this week that she felt "the weight of the world" on her shoulders at the Games. The organization said in a statement Wednesday that "after further medical evaluation," Biles, 24, decided not to take part "in order to focus on her mental health."More Related News
