The White House said House Republicans “face a major test” on whether they are “ready to put governing” above the agenda of “ultra MAGA” members of their conference.
The White House touted President Joe Biden’s desire and willingness to work in a bipartisan fashion and celebrated Senate Republicans’ "interest in avoiding a Christmas shutdown and negotiating with their Democratic colleagues to find compromises on both sides and to put governing and the American economy above partisan politics."
