
Where Knicks could go in free agency if they land guard in trade

If the Knicks land point guard Collin Sexton in a trade, the cap space they would have used on a free-agent starting point guard could be funneled elsewhere.
The Knicks, who have $50 million in cap space, still are focused on an athletic small forward. Last year, Reggie Bullock and RJ Barrett were interchangeable as the starting shooting guard and small forward. The Post reported on June 7 that mutual interest exists between the Knicks and the Warriors’ small forward Kelly Oubre. The athletic wing has shot well from 3-point range in the past, defends, and is a free agent.
Cade Cunningham, almost inarguably the best player in the East this season, is likely out for the remainder of the regular season. That’s the word out of Detroit following the depressing news that Cunningham punctured a lung when he took a knee to his side Tuesday from Washington’s Tre Johnson while chasing a loose ball.

Wednesday was another positive day at Yankees camp. For the first time since March 6, 2025 — an outing in which he knew “something wasn’t right,” which began a weeks-long saga that ended on the operating table for Tommy John surgery — Gerrit Cole was back on a mound and facing hitters in game action.
