The TMC on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the Election Commission (EC) accusing BJP's Bengal in-charge and national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya of flouting the election Model Code of Conduct (MCC) by promising to pay a stipend to kirtan singers in the state. A TMC delegation led by state minister Firhad Hakim met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), a day after the BJP leader made the promise at an event on Tuesday. “Yesterday, I saw that Kailash Vijayvargiya went to an event and announced a stipend. How can someone make such an announcement from a party? We have raised this before the EC. We hope to get justice. We hope the EC will not be influenced by the BJP,” Hakim told the media.More Related News
