Chief Minister Amarinder Singh was present at Navjot Singh Sidhu's inauguration as the new chief of the Congress unit in Punjab.

Navjot Singh Sidhu, sitting in between Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and outgoing state president Sunil Jakhar, is eager to get to the podium. "There is no difference between an ordinary party worker and the state unit chief. Every Congress worker in Punjab has become the chief of the party's state unit from today," Mr Sidhu said in his opening remarks to a rapturous crowd that clapped a solid round in return.
