Ashish Misra, the son of Union Minister Ajay Misra, was arrested on Saturday night in connection with the violence that erupted in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri last week.
He was questioned for 12 hours at the crime branch office in Lakhimpur Kheri before being arrested. The crime branch also seized Ashish Misra's mobile phone.On Sunday, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya and MoS (Home) Ajay Mishra Teni were to visit Lakhimpur Kheri to lay the foundation stone of government schemes. The Samyukta Kisan Morcha had given a call for protest and stoppage of the convoy of Maurya and Ajay Mishra.
